Sizes:

Laptop Jack comes in three sizes to accommodate a range of computers on the market today. To select your size, measure your laptop’s width, from edge to edge. Please do not rely on your computer’s advertised size, as this often reflects the screen size measured on the diagonal. Once you know the width of your computer, compare it to the sizes below.

Your computer should measure at least as wide as Laptop Jack’s fixed measurement. For example, if your computer measures 12” wide, you should select the small Laptop Jack, not the medium. It is fine if your computer hangs over the edge of Laptop Jack by an inch or so on either side. All Laptop Jack’s are 10” deep and will comfortably suit most computers. Please feel free to e-mail us if you are having difficulty determining your best size.

Materials:

Laptop Jack is constructed with materials selected for their durability, environmental friendliness and appearance. The flat platform is wheat board, a lightweight, formaldehyde-free sheet good made from renewable wheat straw fibers. The two angled risers are poplar, a fast-growing hardwood common to Eastern United States.

Finish:

Black Jack gets its midnight hue from milk paint, a non-polluting and biodegradable recipe of milk protein, lime and mineral pigments. Milk paint produces a distinct, yet non-uniform appearance, resulting in Laptop Jack’s unique handcrafted look.

Natural Jack is not painted. Instead, it retains the organic characteristics of the product’s materials. The wheat board is flecked with small light and dark brown fibers, while the poplar retains the honeyed yellow and faint green qualities of the wood’s species. When constructed, Natural Jack’s good looks reflect its literal and figurative roots.

Both Laptop Jacks are sealed with several coats of a satin, water-based acrylic finish. Natural variations in both the finish and paint occur, a result of hand-craftsmanship and Mother Nature.
